Privacy Policy
Liftype is a training journal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Liftype is operated by an independent developer. Questions go to hello@liftype.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and your name if you provide it or if it comes from Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Your training data. The workouts you write, the sets and exercises parsed from them, bodyweight entries, session dates, and the records computed from them.
- Progress photos. Only if you add them. They are stored privately and are visible only to you.
- Settings. Preferences like your unit, reminders, and goals.
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist on this site, we keep your email to tell you when the beta opens, nothing else.
- Diagnostics. If enabled, anonymous usage events and crash reports that help us fix problems. These never include your workout content.
How we use it
- To store your log and sync it across your devices.
- To compute your records, estimated maxes, and progress.
- To read your workouts. The text lines you write are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to turn plain words into structured sets and to write the coach’s notes. Only the text you enter is sent. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models.
- To manage a subscription, if and when you buy one.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. We rely on a small set of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase hosts the database, authentication, storage, and functions.
- Anthropic (Claude) processes your workout text to parse it and generate coaching.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in when you choose them.
- RevenueCat handles subscriptions, when purchases are enabled.
Your fitness data
Your training and body data is health and fitness information. It is used only to run the app for you. It is never sold, and it is never used for advertising.
Where it lives and how it is protected
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure and encrypted in transit and at rest. Row-level security means each account can reach only its own data.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can export your whole book from inside the app at any time, and you can delete your account from the app’s settings, which removes your data. To leave the waitlist, email us and we will remove you.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Most of this is built into the app; for anything else, write to hello@liftype.com.
Children
Liftype is not directed to children under 13, and you should not use it if you are under the age required by your country.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
